Nathan turns One!

Last weekend, we celebrated our dear little cousin’s 1st birthday. It was quite a special day for our family. He also had his dedication that day. Yay, Nathan!  :D
He loves to play with his Huggies nappy cloth container that has Winnie the Pooh photos. So his mum decided we shall have a Winnie-the-Pooh-themed birthday party. Fun, right?! :)
We set out to make a Winnie the Pooh cake. This is (literally) a labour of love… we adore him! So only the best for him, eh?
So here’s Nathan’s first ever birthday cake:

And, just because he’s such a charmer… *sigh*… we decided we’d make a dessert/lolly table (this one’s our very first dessert table!):

...and here's our adorable little cousin:

The party was so much fun! And the fact that we DIYed everything makes it all the more special!
A very happy first birthday, Nathan!

Jackman's 21st birthday cake

So through this sugary-sweet journey we find that it's a challenge designing/creating cakes for the big boys. ;D But we try nonetheless.

Here's a cake we made for Jackman's 21st birthday. (Sarah, his girlfriend, asked as to make a surprise cake for him. Oh, heart!)

...and yes, he loves wall climbing.

Happy 21st, Jackman!

A farewell treat

her·o·ism - great bravery
noun /ˈherōˌizəm/

Our dear friend, Grace, asked us if we can make a cake for her workmate, Linda, who's considered by many in their workplace to be a heroine. (Yes, we meet them everyday... they're everywhere!)

This is our very first buttercream-finished cake. We we're very happy with it. It's an egg-free moist vanilla cake.

Just in case you were wondering what the monkey is doing on the cake... the workmates gave this card with the cake to Linda:

Well, no one at the party got to eat the cake. :( Grace told us the following day that Linda loved the cake so much, she took it home to show her family. ;)

Thank you for joining us in this sugary-sweet journey!
