We were quite happy with how the buttercream waves turned out! ;p ...not so happy with our frangipani though. :'( But, we shall learn, and we will get better!

Kit's baby sprinkle cake topper

May 2010: Because we organised the baby sprinkle, we didn't have enough time to make a cake. :'( A friend offered to buy a dark chocolate mudcake at the local Cheesecake shop. (",) To personalise it a bit, we made a baby rattle and keys cake topper.

And, here are the decors... just wanted to show you that the cake topper matched the colour motifs. ;p

Birthday girl 3: 7 yo; likes the colour blue, asked for a Barbie cake. We said, "okay, a Barbie cake it is, but only if the barbie has the same hair colour as you." Her eyes twinkled, "Ooh! Then you'll like Fula!"

Meet Fula. The Barbie from Kuwait. She has such straight long black hair. So long, it was leaving prick marks on the fondant bustier. I asked the birthday girl if I could cut Fula's hair a little bit. "It's okay, Tita (Aunty)... it will grow back anyway," she said with a smile. Well, I wasn't about to argue that!

It's a vanilla pound cake baked in a dolly vardem which we'd rented from a baking supplies shop the day before. So worth it! Saved us a whole heap of stress.

Here are the princesses with their cakes on their special day:

Lastly, we leave you with this photo... an image which reminded us of our own childhood - colourful!

The cake is a mixed berry yoghurt pound cake with french buttercream filling/frosting. Decorations are fondant, gumpaste, and a little buttercream. We were thinking, "Alice in Wonderland"... you feellin' it?

We think it suits her personality very well. She is as sweet a girl as can be! Just like the flowers on her cake. This cake was a whole lot of fun to make!
