Our dear friend, Grace, asked us if we can make a cake for her workmate, Linda, who's considered by many in their workplace to be a heroine. (Yes, we meet them everyday... they're everywhere!)

This is our very first buttercream-finished cake. We we're very happy with it. It's an egg-free moist vanilla cake.

Just in case you were wondering what the monkey is doing on the cake... the workmates gave this card with the cake to Linda:

Well, no one at the party got to eat the cake. :( Grace told us the following day that Linda loved the cake so much, she took it home to show her family. ;)

Rose Cake, Peggy-style

Here's a Peggy Porschen-inspired cake we made for a 70th birthday.  We love the simplicity of this design... such understated elegance! :)

It is a rosewater-butter-cake filled and frosted with rosewater-vanilla buttercream. {Yes, that's why we made this particular design!}
