The Peacock Cake

October 2010: Our church held a socials night this month. It was a talent quest, followed by a cake auction with the proceeds going to the Youth and Pathfinder's fund. Well, we didn't join the talent quest (phew!)... but we baked a cake! Yeah, I know, so out of the ordinary, right? ;p

We were looking for ideas on the net and then we came across a photo of a peacock figurine and thought a peacock would be an awesome cake topper. But we didn't have one...

So we made one. :D

Cake: Egg-free vanilla custard pound cake with strawberry jam and lemon-flavoured buttercream; fondant-finished; gumpaste decors (yes, the peacock, too!).

The cake was auctioned for $350.00! Yeeiiiaaa!!!

Thank you for joining us in this sugary-sweet journey!
